Staff Software Engineer

Summary

Join Vantage, a cloud cost visibility and optimization platform, as a product-oriented software engineer. You will collaborate with leadership and founders on feature discovery and implementation, lead and mentor a team of engineers, define technical architecture, and take ownership of end-to-end feature development. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams, expertise in Ruby and Rails, and a passion for delighting customers. Requirements

• A product-oriented software engineer with a passion for listening to and delighting customers
• 10+ years of overall experience, including 5+ years of experience leading a team of engineers building and delivering features
• Enjoy being a generalist working on both the frontend and backend
• Prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what will last and scale
• Someone who has led impactful engineering projects and built architectures that operate at scale
• Expertise in Ruby and Rails
• BA/BS degree and 3-5 years of equivalent working experience
• Someone excited to deliver quickly and hold a high degree of responsibility

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product & Engineering leadership and founders on feature discovery, ideation, and implementation
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers in building product features
• Define and guide technical architecture decisions to support future scaling of Vantage
• Take full ownership of end-to-end feature development, including tracking and reporting on customer impact
• Participate in customer calls with design and product teams to gain direct insight into user needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Monitoring and observability expertise
• Experience building and deploying to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
• Relevant Data Visualization / financial product experience
