Staff Software Engineer GenAI

Summary

Join ServiceNow as a Software Engineer and build high-quality, scalable, and reusable code. Collaborate with teams to integrate AI solutions, work with product owners to understand requirements, and own your code from design to delivery. Implement user-friendly software, contribute to new product and feature development, and mentor colleagues. Leverage your experience in integrating AI into work processes and demonstrate expertise in Java, RAG, LLMs, data indexing and searching, JavaScript, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design.

Requirements

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry
• 8+ years of experience with Java or a similar OO language
• Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Experience working with one or more LLMs
• Experience with indexing and searching data
• Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
• Analytical and design skills

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate AI solutions
• Work with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users
• Implement software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features while also enhancing the existing product suite
• Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing
