Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering
  • 5–10 years of relevant experience in a commercial, product-driven environment
  • Experience introducing and sustaining products in Low and Medium volume production
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in data analysis and lean six-sigma manufacturing methods
  • Experience developing new manufacturing processes from development to commercial launch; scaling from low to mass production
  • ECO/MCO using PLM experience required
  • Fixture design experience in CAD required
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead engineers and technicians effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to drive initiatives independently and within teams

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal and external teams to drive new product introduction (NPI) per the Product Development Process (PDP) ensuring a smooth transition into volume production; including sustaining engineering support to end of life
  • Conduct DFx (e.g.: manufacturability, assembly, testability, serviceability) for reviews/feedback for product development
  • Create and release engineering change orders (ECOs/MCOs), manufacturing specifications, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), standard work instructions, workflows, work cells, production tools/fixtures and equipment, and related documentation to support robot production, refurbishment and key suppliers
  • Analyze production data to identify and drive improvements in manufacturing efficiency, productivity, capacity, quality, cost, and safety through lean methodologies and innovative solutions
  • Act as a subject matter expert to diagnose and resolve manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions to ensure on time delivery
  • Support supply chain team with supplier and contract manufacturer (CM) qualification, capability evaluations, ECO and make to buy transitions, and dispositions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in both Startups and Medium to Large companies
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems; dc motors, actuators and/or sensors
  • Experience developing new manufacturing processes from development to commercial launch; scaling from low to mass production; startup experience
  • Experience in Windchill
  • Experience in CREO
  • Experience developing and implementing test equipment in production environments (DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ)
