Requirements

• Have a background in journalism and understand the basics of reporting and researching a story, requesting public records and asking the right questions while interviewing sources
• Be obsessed with music and web culture and have a deep knowledge of rock, heavy metal, classic rock, pop-punk, thrash, grunge, emo and everything in between
• Be passionate about social media, keep up with current conversations and have a good understanding about the features and capabilities of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, and TikTok
• Be comfortable on camera with a desire to host videos for YouTube and social media
• Be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
• Be knowledgeable in AP style
• Be knowledgeable in WordPress
• Be knowledgeable in SEO for media/news websites

Responsibilities

• Find and write news stories for Loudwire.com
• Develop creative ideas for editorial lists, interviews, video series, op-eds, etc
• Ensure daily, weekly, quarterly traffic goals are met
• Contribute to maintaining Loudwire’s exceptional social engagement
• Optimize and publish all Loudwire.com content for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
• Generate headlines that are optimized for both social media referrals and SEO
