Staff/Principal Presales Engineer

Summary
The job is a technical consultancy role in OREDATA, a Digital Transformation & IT Consulting firm. The role involves customer-facing tasks such as advocating products, understanding data challenges, analyzing requirements, communicating solution value, handling objections, delivering presentations, and regular on-site visits. The required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, 5 to 15 years of experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales or technical consulting, 2+ years of experience in customer-facing consultancy roles, and expertise in Cloud, Big Data technologies. The preferred qualifications include experience working with teams of Data Engineering, Analysts, Analytics Managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
- 5 to 15 years of experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales or technical consulting in customer-facing roles
- 2+ years of experience on customer facing consultancy role, preferably vendors
- Experience working with team of Data Engineering, Analysts, Analytics Managers
- Technical experience and know-how in Cloud, Big Data (Bigquery, Redshift, Hadoop, Cloudera, Confluent, Kafka, ElasticSearch etc.) technologies and environments: SQL, Data warehouses, Data lakes, Data lakehouses, BI tools
- Expert-level presentation skills
- Growth mindset, solution oriented attitude, high level resilience
- Advanced Fluent English
Responsibilities
- Advocate our products and tailored custom solutions to existing customers and prospects
- Drive and promote the value of solutions for customer business challenges
- Understand customer data and analytics challenges and help translate to business requirements in positioning software and services
- Analyze, document customer business and technical requirements
- Communicate customer-specific value of solutions and how they integrate with the customer’s analytical ecosystem as part of a future-state roadmap
- Work with diverse teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, handle key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers
- Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations, conduct PoCs
- Conduct regular on-site customer visits, travel to conferences and other relevant events as required to represent Oredata
