Summary

The job is for a Standards Research Officer / Assistant at The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI), a voluntary home-based think tank focusing on applying blockchain technology in climate change. The role involves creating and promoting blockchain standards, engaging with stakeholders, and driving the end-to-end process of developing standards.

Requirements

  • A relevant degree or training in a relevant discipline preferred
  • Experience in producing standards-based outputs and structured reports for different audiences

Responsibilities

  • Providing standards development support for members of working groups in areas such as renewable energy, carbon trading, forest monitoring, natural resource management, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, etc
  • Conducting primary and secondary research activities, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis, and publishing high-quality research that informs and advances the development of standards
  • Generating opportunities for strategic partnerships that align with and promote the adoption of standards in climate and blockchain initiatives
  • Attending conferences and events to promote BCI’s standards work, communicate research findings and insights via presentations, and engage with key stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record in research publications and standards involvement
  • Experience in building constructive relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience of working independently and with teams to drive forward projects using own initiative
  • Experience in designing, planning and facilitating independent research and the ability to meet tight deadlines
