Summary

Join the Koch Internship Program (KIP), a paid 10-week experiential learning program offering meaningful work experience at non-profits nationwide. The program includes virtual professional development sessions and a stipend of $5,500 or $3,300 depending on full-time or part-time participation. This specific role is an assistant for State Policies at MPPF, focusing on cannabis law reform and education. The assistant will conduct research and writing, update legislative stance spreadsheets, schedule meetings, and potentially assist with pressure tactics. Successful candidates will interview with both the non-profit and Stand Together Fellowships staff.

Requirements

  • Be self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a small remote group setting
  • Be extremely detail-oriented
  • Have excellent time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform cannabis policy research and related writing, when needed for the Director of State Policies and other staffer
  • Update a spreadsheet of legislators’ stances on cannabis policies
  • Schedule legislative meetings
  • Possibly help the State Policies with pressure tactics such as in-house calls, texting to constituents and supporters, and /or drafting letters to the editor
