Storage Engineer

Summary

Join Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions as a NetApp Storage Engineer and manage storage infrastructure changes using HPSM and OTSM. You will perform tasks such as Qtree management, firmware upgrades, and quota configurations. Monitor and maintain systems using Active IQ, OpenNMS, Grafana, and Hawkeye. Coordinate technician deployments and handle performance and security issues. Automate tasks using PowerShell, Linux, and Ansible. Handle backups, migrations, and documentation. Introduce new technologies like S3 and Anti-Ransomware. This long-term opportunity allows you to help define the future operational model. The role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, or equivalent experience. Strong English communication skills are essential.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in the following areas: Computer science, Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent work experience in IT
• 3-5 years of experience in managing and implementing NetApp storage solutions
• Experience in planning, installation, and configuration of NetApp systems
• Advanced knowledge of NetApp ONTAP (including SnapMirror, SnapVault)
• Knowledge of NAS technologies (as well as protocols such as iSCSI, NFS, and CIFS)
• Experience with Ansible
• Experience with Windows PowerShell and Linux scripts
• Strong communication skills and excellent written and verbal communication competences in English language

Responsibilities

• Manage storage infrastructure changes via HPSM and OTSM, including tasks like Qtree management, firmware upgrades, export policies, and quota configurations
• Monitor and maintain using tools such as Active IQ, OpenNMS, Grafana, and Hawkeye
• Coordinate technician deployments and handle performance and security issues
• Additional responsibilities cover automation and scripting (PowerShell, Linux, Ansible), backups, migrations, documentation, and introducing new technologies (e.g., S3, Anti-Ransomware)
• Help define the future operational model

Preferred Qualifications

• German is a plus
• Knowledge in agile
• Experience with Python
• Experience with YAML
• Experience with Monitoring tools like ELK Stack, Grafana Stack, Prometheus
• Knowledge of cloud storage provisioning (keyword: Storage provisioning with service portal)
• Conducting performance tests with documented proof
• Creating operation manuals, preparing documentation for proof of compliance with customers
