Summary
Join WiredPeople, a public health organization dedicated to reducing tobacco use, as a Strategic Planning Expert. You will lead and support initiatives to eliminate tobacco-related disparities and improve health outcomes, primarily focusing on Florida. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive strategies to reduce tobacco use. This role requires expertise in public health policy, program development, and stakeholder engagement. You will report on plan status, facilitate meetings, provide training, and build partnerships. Success in this position requires strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience building marketing and communication websites intended for public and stakeholder consumption
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience designing and maintaining websites using WordPress
- At least 3 years of demonstrated experience managing the hosting of marketing websites
- A minimum of two years of work experience in public health or a related field
- A master’s degree in public health or business administration or three years equivalent experience
- A minimum of two years of experience in strategic planning and implementation
- Demonstrated skills in project management, prioritization, and planning, with demonstrated success producing high-quality deliverables while building relationships with internal and external partners
- Demonstrated experience in providing training and technical assistance to staff
- Demonstrated skill in successfully engaging and retaining partners
- Demonstrated skill in effective communication and facilitation to foster collaboration among a wide range of internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Demonstrated skill in gathering and analyzing data, trends, and organization dynamics to identify patterns and make informed recommendations
- Demonstrated skill in identifying and developing tools and processes to support project progression
- Demonstrated experience in using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Responsibilities
- Report on the status of activities related to the planning and/or implementation of the Tobacco Strategic Plan
- Plan and facilitate monthly, virtual Tobacco Strategic Plan meetings
- Provide training and technical assistance to staff to conduct Tobacco Strategic Plan planning and/or implementation strategies and ensure maximum participation in completion of plan strategies and goals
- Present at two meetings (in-person or virtually) on the progress of the Tobacco Strategic Plan
- Monitor the Tobacco Strategic Plan mailbox and respond or route emails to Tobacco Strategic Plan workgroups members accordingly
- Monitor and communicate updates needed to the Tobacco Strategic Plan website
- Plan and co-facilitate monthly Tobacco Strategic Plan Workgroup meetings
- Schedule, plan, and facilitate meetings or other mechanisms for soliciting and exchanging information among Tobacco Strategic Plan partners
- Create a process for collecting and streamlining information sharing across each of the Tobacco Strategic Plan workgroups
- Communicate with Tobacco Strategic Plan partners and provide relevant updates including successes, challenges, and any needs for input or resources
- Review the current list of Tobacco Strategic Plan workgroup members and provide recommendations on additional organizations (internal and external) to engage and approaches for engagement based on the goals of the Tobacco Strategic Plan
- Coordinate outreach and partnership building activities with other agencies, departments, universities, and other potential partners in Florida
- Develop or update Tobacco Strategic Plan materials and submit the developed or updated materials
- Modify and resubmit the developed or updated materials
