Summary

Join Natera as a Telehealth Genetic Counselor (GC) Supervisor, overseeing a team of GCs and other clinical staff. You will guide and advise GCs on complex patients and cases, collaborate with laboratory and medical directors to resolve issues, manage appointment schedules and team operations, train new hires, and conduct performance reviews. This role involves delivering presentations at scientific meetings and representing the company at conferences, requiring occasional travel. You will work with protected health information (PHI) in both paper and electronic formats, requiring access to various technologies and electronic medical records (EMRs). Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling or equivalent degree
  • Board certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling or the American Board of Medical Genetics
  • Ability to obtain multi-state genetic counseling licensure
  • Eight or more years of clinical and/or laboratory GC experience
  • In-depth technical understanding of genetic testing
  • Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Proven leadership skills
  • A desire to work for a dynamic and growing molecular genetics laboratory and manage growth for optimal success

Responsibilities

  • Guide and advise telehealth GCs on complex patients/cases
  • Work with laboratory/medical directors and other departments within Natera to resolve patient/case/clinic issues
  • Oversee appointment schedules and other day-to-day operations
  • Run team meetings
  • Train new hires and perform ongoing training for team members
  • Manage direct reports (annual reviews, regular job feedback, PTO/expense approvals)
  • Deliver presentations/posters at scientific meetings and company promotional events as needed; represent company at trade shows and medical conferences (<10% travel)
  • Work with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form. Obtain and maintain access to various technologies/EMRs required to access PHI (paper and electronic) needed to perform the job
  • Complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire
  • Maintain a current status on Natera training requirements
  • Must pass post offer criminal background check
  • Perform other duties as assigned
