Summary

The Sustainability Engineering Intern will work on various projects within the North America (NAM) projects organization, focusing on sustainability and water management. The intern will be responsible for developing methodologies to assess the environmental impact of Veolia WTS solutions, applying these methodologies to specific projects, creating or adapting project quantification tools, coordinating employee sustainability education sessions, and supporting the implementation of sustainability impacts into marketing materials and customer proposals.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical discipline, minimum completion of 2nd year, with preference for candidates that have completed their 3rd year
  • Academic focus on sustainability, whether through course work or as a designated minor is beneficial

Responsibilities

  • Executing discrete projects, either individually or as part of a team
  • Developing and refining methodology for assessing Veolia WTS solutions from a sustainability standpoint
  • Applying the methodology on discrete commercial project quantifications to summarize the customer benefit surrounding the mentioned environmental impacts
  • Creation and/or adapting of the project quantification tool to enable the NAM Projects team to be able to perform discrete quantifications in a timely manner
  • In collaboration with VWTS Market Communities, establish a means by which to report the sustainability impacts of our customer projects on aggregate for each market segment
  • Coordinate quarterly employee Sustainability Education sessions
  • Support the implementation of our sustainability impacts into marketing materials and customer proposals
