Summary
Join Palo Alto Networks' Sales team as a Professional Services Sales Engineer, partnering with Services Sales Managers to support core and speedboat account teams. You will be responsible for understanding customer needs, scoping efforts, recommending services, designing and architecting solutions, and assisting with large-scale technology transformations. Success requires strong presentation skills, experience translating technical solutions into business value for C-level executives, and the ability to facilitate customer discovery workshops. The role involves supporting a large sales team, driving services revenue, and working with enterprise companies. Domestic and potentially international travel is required. This remote position is open to candidates in the EST time zone and reports to the Director of Service Sales.
Requirements
- BS technical degree or equivalent military experience
- 5+ years of experience working in security including 2+ years working in a sales or consulting role
- Self motivated and detail oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to create technical documentation (SOWs, project timelines, etc) for sales and delivery teams
- Superb organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to facilitate discovery workshops with cross functional customer resources and to prepare 1-3 year current state/future state roadmaps and services proposals
Responsibilities
- Partner with Services Sales Managers supporting our core and speedboat account teams
- Understand customer requirements
- Scope level of effort and recommend services that provide successful outcomes for our customers
- Design and architect implementation and optimization solutions
- Assist customers with planning for large-scale transformations in technology
- Recommend the appropriate post sales resource teams to ensure client success
- Run virtual and in-person customer discovery workshops
- Translate technical solutions into business value for C level executives
- Support a large team of sales reps and work as the services technical resource along with the Service Sales Manager
- Drive services revenue in a specific territory
- Create project plans and detailed statement of works
Preferred Qualifications
- Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Apprentice and Cybersecurity Practitioner certifications
- Sales experience with quota carrying positions
- Experience working with Channel partners and understanding of a channel centric go to market approach
- Knowledge of network infrastructure based security appliances, including but not limited to - Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, Security Proxies and Caches, Cloud environments including AWS, Azure and GCP and SOC environments
- Practical knowledge of routing and switching products that may be installed adjacent to the Palo Alto Networks appliances

- Starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $198000 - $273000/YR
