Systems Engineer - Citrix CVAD & Exchange Specialist

Summary

Join GEM Technologies, a leading managed services provider in NYC, as a remote Citrix and Exchange expert. You will design, deploy, and maintain Citrix and Exchange environments across various client infrastructures, troubleshooting issues and optimizing performance. Your work directly impacts client productivity and satisfaction. Responsibilities include administering Citrix CVAD environments, managing Citrix Provisioning Services, maintaining Exchange servers, performing migrations and restores, monitoring system health, collaborating with support teams, and documenting configurations. This role requires extensive experience with Citrix and Exchange, strong PowerShell scripting skills, and familiarity with various infrastructure technologies. While remote, some on-site work at client locations in the NYC metro area is required. The salary range is $75,000 to $110,000.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, preferably in an MSP
• Proven expertise in Citrix CVAD , including PVS, MCS, WEM, and FSLogix
• Strong hands-on experience with Exchange Server (on-prem) and hybrid setups
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting
• Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO management
• Citrix certifications (CCA-V, CCP-V) and Microsoft Exchange certifications
• Experience with RMM/PSA tools (ConnectWise, Autotask)
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure AD
• Exposure to compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2)
• Maintains confidentiality and uses sound judgement when discussing technical or sensitive matters
• Must maintain a clean and presentable work environment for video calls when working from home as well as in the office

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Citrix CVAD environments (published apps & desktops)
• Manage Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) , App Layering , and NetScaler ADC
• Maintain and troubleshoot on-prem Exchange Server (2016/2019) environments
• Perform Exchange migrations, mailbox restores, and hybrid configurations
• Monitor system health, apply patches, and ensure high availability
• Collaborate with support teams for Tier 3 escalations and project rollouts
• Document configurations, procedures, and client-specific environments

Preferred Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Past client-facing experience
