Summary
Join Lumin Digital as their Tax Director and build and lead their tax function. This critical role ensures compliance with tax regulations while optimizing strategies for business growth. You will collaborate with various teams, serving as the tax expert. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include leading tax return completion, preparing workpapers, managing tax audits, providing tax advice, and developing a comprehensive tax strategy. This role requires significant tax experience, a CPA certification, and a bachelor's degree in a related field.
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of experience in taxation and tax accounting, including experience in a public accounting firm
- Proven expertise in corporate income tax and indirect tax within a high-growth or technology-driven company
- Experience working with third-party advisors such as tax consultants and auditors

- Technical expertise in tax accounting with a deep understanding of corporate income tax, indirect tax, sales and use tax, and tax compliance requirements
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Experience in managing tax audits and handling responses to tax authorities
- Ability to proactively monitor and interpret tax regulations and apply them to a growing business
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to convey complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong experience with tax software, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field required
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the completion of annual federal and state tax returns
- Prepare detailed workpapers to support federal and state income tax compliance, including depreciation, revenue recognition, fringe benefit analyses, stock compensation, state apportionments, and adjustments
- Bring the quarterly tax provision in-house in accordance with GAAP standards
- Own and manage all sales tax returns, ensuring accurate and timely filings
- Assist with 1099, 3921, and other regulatory tax filings as required
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that impact Lumin Digital and proactively address implications
- Manage all tax-related audits and responses to state and federal tax notices
- Provide proactive tax advice on business initiatives, M&A activities, and strategic financial decisions
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and cross-functional teams to ensure tax considerations are integrated into business decisions
- Work with third-party tax consultants and auditors and manage relationships with external stakeholders
- Oversee special projects such as E&P studies, Section 382 studies, deferred tax analysis, and other compliance initiatives
- Develop and execute a comprehensive tax strategy to optimize efficiency and compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned

$150,000 - $175,000 a year
