Summary

Join our tech team as a reporting fellow and spend six months learning from a newsroom full of passionate, dedicated journalists. You will produce real work that is distributed to our audience of millions, and by the end of six months, you are prepared for the next phase of your journalism careers.

Requirements

• Experience reporting and writing
• A curiosity about, if not interest in, the technology, startups and venture capital industry
• A willingness and confidence to take the initiative to make calls and chase down interviews
• A passion for digital storytelling, voracious reading habits, and familiarity with digital and social media
• Ability to work quickly and collaboratively with a fast-paced global team
• A self-starter attitude and excellent organizational skills
• Solid proofreading/copy editing skills

Responsibilities

• Pitch daily story ideas and work with your editor to cover compelling tech and startup stories
• Conduct interviews with sources and pitch features, lists, and other story formats
• Produce stories that are accurate, properly researched, error-free, and in line with Business Insider reporting standards and guidelines
• Learn and become adept at Business Insider’s style of headline writing and Business Insider SEO practices
