Summary
Join Vibes as a Technical Accountant and contribute to the Finance and Accounting team's key accounting activities and reporting. This role involves managing GL accounting for COGS and OpEx accounts, serving as a liaison between Finance, Message Operations, and Data & Analytics teams, and becoming a subject matter expert on the technical aspects of the business. You will reconcile complex data sets, act as the accounting point person for report writing, and build relationships with vendor partners. This full-time position is located in Chicago with a remote work option. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, 4-6 years of relevant experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or working towards CPA is a plus
- Minimum of 4-6 years related experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work cross functionally to achieve alignment on core business initiatives
- Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Professional, high-integrity, reliable, organized, driven, and results-oriented
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Superior MS Office skills
Responsibilities
- Manage GL Accounting (accruals, balance sheet recs, flux analysis) for all COGS and OpEx accounts
- Serve as the main liaison between Finance,the Message Operations, and Data & Analytics teams
- Become a subject matter expert on the technical elements of the business, including: all elements of carrier pricing, the functional process and all technical details of message sends from origination to handset, , and general trends and changes within the telecom market
- Reconcile complex data sets to ensure vendor bills are accurate and initiate communication with vendors to address any errors or inconsistencies
- Act as the accounting point person for report writing and BI tool assistance
- Forge constructive relationships with vendor partners to anticipate and address any changes in pricing or methodology that could impact the business
- Ensure data integrity in all reports utilized by Accounting and Finance
- Prepare other ad hoc analytic reports as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Experience with Looker or similar BI tools a plus
