Summary

Trail of Bits is seeking a Technical Editor II with experience in technical editing or writing, particularly within the technology or cybersecurity sectors. The role involves editing and finalizing technical reports, contributing to internal documentation, assisting in conducting writing workshops, and helping develop training materials. The base salary for this full-time position ranges from $100,000 to $140,000, excluding benefits and potential bonuses.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in technical editing or writing, particularly within the technology or cybersecurity sectors, with a proven track record of reviewing technical documentation of security engagements
• Proven track record of collaborating effectively with technical and non-technical team members across multiple departments
• Excellent communication and analytical skills, contributing to workflow improvements and maintaining internal documentation
• Experience with digital content platforms and tools like G Suite, GitHub, and WordPress to facilitate seamless content creation and management

Responsibilities

• Edit and finalize technical reports, ensuring error-free content that adheres to style and brand guidelines
• Review and refine documents to maintain consistency and clarity, enhancing the overall readability and professionalism of the reports
• Deliver various content types on a deadline in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround projects
• Contribute to internal documentation, assist in conducting writing workshops, and help develop training materials to improve staff writing skills
• Identify and implement strategies to improve the technical editing workflow in collaboration with the editorial team

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and the current threat landscape is preferred
