Technical I.T. Project Manager

Summary

Join ISTA Personnel Solutions South Africa, a global BPO company, as a Project Manager leading a remote technical team for a US-based healthcare client. You will oversee AI Engineers, Python Developers, Server Managers/Data Loaders, and Excel Power Query/DAX Experts, while also contributing hands-on to project tasks. This remote role requires working EST hours (9 am to 6 pm) and a reliable internet connection with a fixed fibre line (minimum 25 Mbps). A power backup solution is mandatory due to load shedding. The position is open to South African citizens only. The successful candidate will manage projects using sprint-based methodologies, engage with partner companies, and ensure high-quality project delivery.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years management experience, specifically managing remote working programming teams
• Proven track record with sprint-based projects (Agile/Scrum)
• Strong understanding of Python and Excel
• A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and the ability to support a wired Ethernet connection
• A reliable power backup solution
• Ability to push results without bureaucracy

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the remote team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality project outcomes
• Oversee task planning and execution using sprint-based methodologies
• Engage with partner companies to confirm requirements and provide progress updates
• Lead projects through all phases, proactively resolving barriers to success
• Contribute hands-on effort to project tasks as required, beyond supervisory duties
• Offer technical insight and support leveraging expertise in Python
• Guarantee data accuracy and integrity across all project deliverables

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with database management, Power BI, data security, or Azure
• Familiarity with AI, data loading, or Power Query/DAX
• Comfort with tools like ClickUp, Jira, Trello, or Asana
• Experience with Power BI
