Summary
Join MDS as a Technical Lead and play a hands-on role in maintaining and improving internal systems for our 650+ e-commerce entrepreneurs. You will support automation workflows, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage key tool integrations across various platforms. As the primary technical point of contact, you will handle support tickets, write scripts, manage webhooks and APIs, and ensure smooth operation of our tech stack. You will need strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. This role requires experience with automation platforms, internal tooling, and light coding/scripting. You will also leverage AI tools to enhance team productivity and maintain data hygiene.
Requirements
- 3+ Years Technical Operations Experience: Proven experience supporting internal systems, workflows, and tools in a fast-paced, remote work environment. Prior roles in operations, technical support, or systems management preferred
- Hands-On Technical Skills: Proficiency with automation platforms (e.g., Make, Zapier), internal tooling (ClickUp, Airtable, Softr, G-Suite), and light coding/scripting (JavaScript, Python, or similar). Comfortable working with APIs, webhooks, and low-code/no-code environments
- AI & Tool Fluency: Familiarity with AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Perplexity and how to integrate them into workflow automation, troubleshooting, and process improvement
- Process & Documentation Focus: Experience documenting SOPs, building process maps (e.g., Lucidchart), and maintaining operational clarity across systems
- Clear & Reliable Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical language into clear guidance for non-technical teammates
- Collaborative and Proactive Mindset: Self-starter who can manage tasks with minimal supervision while also thriving in team environments and cross-functional projects
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for internal issues; maintain a clean, organized log of incoming tickets and ensure timely resolution and follow-up with relevant team members
- Build and maintain automations using tools like Make, Zapier, and AI agents. Monitor error alerts, proactively troubleshoot, and ensure workflows run smoothly across departments
- Develop custom scripts to create and support automation edge cases, assist in prototypes, and help build lightweight MVPs or workaround solutions within our tech stack
- Act as a superuser across ClickUp, Airtable, Softr, G-Suite, and Slack. Assist with setup, maintenance and team SOP’s
- Keep SOPs up to date and help maintain internal documentation up to date using tools like Figma and Lucidchart. Ensure key workflows and tech systems are clearly mapped and replicable
- Leverage AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and others to reduce repetitive work, optimize workflows, and experiment with new use cases that enhance team productivity
- Maintain structured, accurate data across platforms. Support reporting and dashboard creation in Airtable, Google Sheets, and internal systems for team-wide visibility
- Act as the QA checkpoint for launches and programs—testing workflows, forms, and automations to ensure reliability before rollouts
- Help manage user permissions, enforce access best practices, and ensure secure and organized infrastructure across key platforms
- Own the maintenance and reliability of tools like our AI-powered Facebook Scraper, ensuring consistent performance and updating as needed
- Join regular meetings, collaborate in Revenue, Community, and Ops projects, and ensure tech solutions align with organizational needs and timelines
Preferred Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Ops, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications or demonstrable skill in lieu of a degree is also welcomed
Benefits
- Salary: 2,000 - 3,000 per month
- Annual Bonus Pool Participation: Participate in an annual bonus pool, contingent upon the year-over-year growth rate in Membership Income (MI) and maintaining a 75% average in the defined KPIs. Bonus is accrued yearly; 50% is paid at year-end, and the remaining in the following mid-year
- Team Member Referral Bonus: Earn between $750 - $2,500 for successful hires referred, depending on the role level. The bonus is contingent upon both parties’ continued employment for a minimum of six months
