Summary
Join the Eclipse Foundation as a Technical Program Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of open-source software in the automotive industry. You will collaborate with a vibrant community of engineers and architects from leading automotive and technology companies to develop an automotive-grade Core Full-Stack implementation based on open-source projects. This role involves liaising with various initiatives, facilitating communication and collaboration, and ensuring the adoption of modern toolchains. You will be responsible for defining open-source building blocks, aligning roadmaps, and acting as an interface between the SDV working group and other initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical knowledge of the SDV software stack, particularly in the middleware domain, and has proven experience managing software development and CI/CD toolchains. This is a remote position, preferably located within the EU.
Requirements
- MS degree in Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent qualification
- >5 years of experience in an architect or technical program manager role in the automotive domain
- Prior experience with open source projects, particularly as a committer, or at least Contributor to one or more Eclipse projects
- Deep technical knowledge of SDV software stack, particularly in the middleware domain
- Proven experience managing software development and with the CI/CD toolchain
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Professional level proficiency in English (mandatory)
Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary technical liaison between open source projects, special interest groups and governing bodies of the SDV working group
- Facilitates and supports the community in developing a vendor-neutral architecture for a non-differentiating SDV core stack
- Works closely with the Process Engineer to support the community in the adoption and improvement of the Eclipse Functional Safety process
- Works with the supporting teams at the Eclipse Foundation to establish a toolchain that supports the software development according to the process
- Facilitates and supports the definition of the needed open source building blocks and the interfaces
- Works with open source project teams to align on roadmaps and interfaces
- Acts as interface between the SDV working group and other initiatives (e.g. SDV Alliance, EU projects)
Preferred Qualifications
- German (nice to have)
- Knowledge of Automotive SPICE process and ISO 26262 is a plus
