Summary

Join Avery Dennison Corporation as a Territory Account Manager within the Fastener Solutions (FS) Division. Drive profitable revenue initiatives, build strategic relationships with end-users and distributors, and execute sales goals. This remote position, based in the Detroit area, requires extensive travel (50%-70%). Responsibilities include identifying growth programs, managing commercial accounts, developing new business, and representing the Fastener Solutions Commercial Catalog. You will uncover customer needs, provide technical support, report competitive intelligence, and lead contract negotiations. The role demands strong sales and commercial development skills, automotive industry knowledge, and excellent communication and financial skills.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business or similar field required
  • 5+ years of automotive commercial experience in field sales or key account management
  • Attested skills in developing sales penetration, and customer growth strategies
  • Committed pursuit of customer satisfaction. Strong bias to adding new value for customers and growing customer dedication
  • Strong Teammate. Able to work effectively engaging internal cross functional resources
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Automotive Industry, products and applications
  • Excellent financial skills and eye for business
  • Competencies interacting throughout the value chain
  • High energy, self-motivated, goals/results oriented. Able to effectively operate in a remote-from-HQ location
  • 50% Minimum travel expectation

Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead programs to grow the Fastener Solutions Business. Generate ideas, complete market analyses, and lead priority commercialization programs with cross-functional teams (Sales, Technical, Finance, Operations, Logistics, Customer Service, etc.)
  • Responsible for all commercial account activities
  • Focus on new business development with targeted end user markets/applications. Grow the distributor base business. Strengthen and renew relationships in the strategically focused market channel
  • Represent The Fastener Solutions Commercial Catalog to target customers in the region
  • Competency in sales/commercial development through the entire value chain. Influencing specifications and end user support for our customer's customer
  • Accountable to deliver sales consistent with budgeted profit and selling expenses
  • Uncover and assess true customer needs, while aligning solutions based on value by providing product recommendations, demonstrations, technical support, and problem solving
  • Report back effectively on competitive intelligence within the region
  • Report ongoing forecast demand as well as unusual fluctuations which may impact service to customers
  • Lead customer negotiations and the development of long term contracts and supply agreements
  • Develop a keen understanding of market conditions (e.g., current customers, potential customers, competitors) in assigned territory, and develop a strategy to achieve revenue goals while actively identifying new accounts using screening techniques, referrals, and prospecting to potential customers within territory

Preferred Qualifications

Salesforce.com CRM experience preferred
