Summary

Join Rondo Energy, a company dedicated to reducing global CO2 emissions, as a Thermal Process Engineer. You will lead thermal system design for product development and project execution, collaborating with a cross-functional team. Key responsibilities include thermal performance analysis, heat and mass balance development, process engineering for boilers and HRSGs, airflow studies, and PFD/P&ID development. You will also collaborate with other teams, support application and project teams, participate in customer meetings, and maintain high design standards. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in either of the following fields: Heat-Exchanger, Boiler/Heat Recovery Steam Generation, Hot air or Exhaust gas applications, thermal performance engineering, high temperature duct design, chemical or waste heat recovery applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate creatively and effectively across teams
  • Proficient in writing technical reports, reviewing technical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of thermal performance analysis of the heat battery system including heat transfer, pressure drop, equipment sizing and heat duty calculations
  • Develop, own and maintain the official heat and mass balance for heat battery systems
  • Lead the Process Engineering effort for boilers and Heat recovery steam generators (HRSG) specification, calculations, datasheets, drawings and supplier technical communication
  • Work on air flow studies including sizing of duct, stack, dampers, blowers and other hot air handling equipment. Actively collaborate with simulations team to regarding necessary simulation studies and product decisions
  • Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Develop datasheet for air blowers, actuators, pumps, valves and similar equipment
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as Instrumentation and Controls team, Supply Chain team and Product Management team to complete assigned goals and tasks
  • Support Application team and Project team to review technical documentation
  • Participate in meetings with customer, Ownerโ€™s Engineer, EPC partner for technical reviews such as P&ID review, HAZOP study, feasibility study
  • Maintain high standards of quality across design concepts, drawings, and specifications
  • Integrate innovative technologies and sustainable practices into the design process to enhance project efficiency and performance
  • Serve as a technical resource for internal engineers and maintain relationships with outside consultants and contracted parties

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent experience is a plus
