Tibco Focus/WebFOCUS Application Specialist

Summary

The job description is for a Tibco Focus/WebFOCUS Application Specialist to support a client in Tallahassee, Florida on a remote basis as part of a multiyear project to replace existing accounting and cash management systems with a modern financial management solution. The position offers full-time, contract employment with possible extensions and competitive pay.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent work experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Tibco Mainframe Focus or WebFocus
• Development experience with mainframe Focus and WebFocus
• Familiarity with IBM mainframe and Job Control Language (JCL)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with IBM DB2
• Proficiency in data governance best practices
• Experience creating financial data reports
• Analytical thinking for relevant data report creation
• Implementation of solutions with multiple data sources
• Knowledge of modern reporting tools such as MS Power BI, IBM Cognos, and Tableau
• Understanding of the SCRUM Framework
• Knowledge of financial systems like ERP
• Familiarity with data management concepts such as Data Warehousing, Operational Data Stores, Data Lakes, and Master Data Management

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document current Focus programs and WebFocus reports
• Collaborate with management to develop a remediation strategy for all Focus programs and reports
• Enhance existing reports based on current business needs
• Convert WebFocus and Mainframe Focus queries to T-SQL
• Work with database administrators to create views and stored procedures
• Update programs and reports to reflect new chart of account changes
• Transition mainframe programs using flat files to database tables
• Analyze financial data to improve the data model
• Administer the WebFocus environment for the dedicated remediation project
• Transfer knowledge to technical staff within the Comptroller's office

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred experience with MS Power BI

• Compensation and Term: This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $135,000 per year
