Summary

Join Secur-Serv, a leading managed services provider of IT, print, and hardware services, as a Tier 3 Help Desk Networking/Firewall Technician. This role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. As part of our systems engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures in a tier III data center that meet business objectives and SLAs.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of proven hands-on network engineering experience
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Proficiency with the following devices (ability to design, implement, and support): Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ASA-X Firewalls, Cisco FTD Firewalls with IDS/IPS & FMC, Cisco ISR4451-X, F5 BIGIP I Series Load Balancers w/ VCMP, Aruba Wireless Infrastructure (IAP)

Responsibilities

  • Delivers personal tasks on time and leads the delivery of tasks for natural or cross-functional workgroup
  • Participates on initiatives, with deliverables and meets quality standards, on time
  • Focus on security and network segmentation along with multiple unique compliance requirements
  • Leads cross-functional initiatives, with deliverables and meets quality standards, on time
  • Creates System Design Documents
  • Estimates system level and enterprise solution work efforts
  • Designs, develops and implements complex business rules
  • Strong knowledge in multiple infrastructure and internetworking methodologies
  • Technically proficient in switching, routing, security policy (firewall), and load balancing technologies; acts as internal consultant
  • Responsible for fulfilling end-user requests
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Provides on call support as required
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Routinely operates under deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads
  • Periodically provides guidance to and assists in training less experienced individuals
