Transborder and Customs Specialist, Remote - Canada

Bolloré Logistics is looking to add a full-time Transborder and U.S. Customs Specialist. to its growing team in Canada.

Requirements

• Post-Secondary education in a relevant field
• Customs release and Compliance: 5 years
• Data analysis and accuracy
• Client focused communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent judgment and initiative, detailed-oriented, organized

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate activities of the Transborder & Customs entry process
• Act as a resource person for the Bolloré network, U.S. customs, the suppliers and customer service (internally and externally)
• Suggest innovative solutions to clients and the Bolloré network
• Communicate the value of a customs broker to clients and new prospects
• Facilitate account setup processes, including providing basic quotes
• Create and submit quotations to customers while providing a U.S. customs consultation service
• Receive, transmit, and handle consumer and customer data per applicable policies and procedures
• Verify the documents submitted by the customer to ensure compliance
• Stay informed with up-to-date knowledge of international trade agreements and preferential trade programs
• Understand all release types, in all modes of transportation
• Problem-solve release or trade compliance issues
• Classify goods according to US Customs regulations, determine applicable duties and taxes, and assess regulations that may also be subject by participating government agencies
• Develop and communicate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Customs compliance manuals to ensure regulatory adherence and efficient internal processes
