Transmission Line Engineer/Designer

Summary

The job is for a Transmission Line Engineer/Designer to work remotely on electric transmission line design projects. The candidate should have relevant education, experience, and software skills.

Requirements

• B.S. degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Associates
• 3 - 10 years of prior relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems
• Experience using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER
• Experience using LPile or MFAD
• Work effectively in team environment; can also work independently
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Serve as an Engineer or Designer on electric transmission line design projects for extra high-voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems
• Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of electrical overhead and underground systems, voltage conversion projects, new capacity projects, and infrastructure replacement projects
• Perform engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and prepare material procurement and construction documents

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus
