Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in logistics procurement or a similar role
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to establish competitive pricing
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships at multiple levels within a complex organization
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

  • Research and grow the Logistic Service Provider (LSP) network to address ongoing transportation needs
  • Engage directly with LSPs from the dispatcher level to ownership
  • Solicit and negotiate pricing from new and current LSPs, ranging from spot rates to RFQs for dedicated lanes to ensure market-competitive rates
  • Actively meet with LSPs via phone, video, or in person to foster relationships and develop strategic partnerships
  • Execute and maintain procurement strategies and processes to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Identify and analyze the current network and source new LSPs to meet growing needs
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure transportation needs are met in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and supplier performance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Logistic Service Providers
  • Familiarity with RFP processes and contract negotiations
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Understanding of supply chain management principles and best practices
