Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years in the automotive/truck industry or equivalent technical education with practical experience
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in truck and upfit specification consultation
- Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities to effectively convey technical concepts
- Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Skills: Ability to interpret and communicate technical schematics and reports
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce (CAD experience is a plus)
- Skills: Proven leadership skills in team management, coaching, and driving results
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Responsibilities
- Consult and Advise: Partner with external customers, Sales, and internal teams to develop vehicle and upfit specifications, ensuring functionality and compliance
- Drive Innovation: Establish and manage best-in-class upfitting processes, creating a competitive market advantage
- Build Relationships: Collaborate with OEMs, upfitters, suppliers, and industry partners to deliver seamless solutions
- Lead a Team: Manage the workflow, case distribution, and development of the Upfit team, ensuring high performance and exceptional results
- Analyze and Strategize: Leverage expertise in weight distribution, vehicle dynamics, and regulatory compliance to optimize designs and operational needs
- Collaborate on Sustainability: Work with the EV team to integrate electric and alternative fuel vehicles into upfit specifications
- Streamline Processes: Negotiate pricing, issue purchase orders, and oversee vehicle logistics and order strategies
- Improve Continuously: Monitor KPIs, resolve issues, and identify opportunities to enhance processes and outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience: Fleet management or upfitter experience preferred
- Experience: Knowledge of Class 7-8 vehicles and alternative fuels is a plus
- Education: Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications or Truck Marketing Institute (TMI) training are a plus
