Tutor ELA & Math Grades 6-8

Summary

TPAPT is seeking an experienced History Tutor to provide remote tutoring sessions for students in grades 9-12. The tutor will help with homework, study skills, and test preparation, track student progress, communicate with students, parents, and advisors, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• 3+ years of middle school tutoring and/or teaching experience (virtual, in-person, individual, and/or group settings)
• Comfort with tutoring English Language Learners and knowledge of how to support them
• Technological proficiency with virtual instruction including, familiarity with Zoom, digital annotation, Kami, Google Drive, and other online educational tools
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a virtual educational environment, including managing multiple student programs simultaneously, communicating with managers, students, and parents
• Be able to deliver high-quality, engaging virtual instruction
• Strong time and project management skills
• Passion for mentorship

Responsibilities

• Provide remote tutoring sessions
• Design and execute customized lesson plans for individual students
• Administer practice exams and evaluate student progress
• Collaborate with students' families to keep them apprised of student progress
• Maintain accurate records of session details, scores, and student progress

Preferred Qualifications

SAT/ACT tutoring experience a plus, but not required
