Underwriting Assistant

Summary

Join Indigo Insurance NewCo, a Rubicon Founders company disrupting the malpractice insurance market, as an Underwriting Assistant. You will support the Underwriting team in providing exceptional customer service to policyholders, agents, and internal customers. Responsibilities include policy processing, initial review of submissions, troubleshooting system problems, meeting processing deadlines, and supporting the team in policy production and servicing. This remote position requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills, along with a curious mindset and motivation to apply a data-driven approach to underwriting. Requirements

• Handle policy processing for new business, renewals, and ongoing account maintenance
• Demonstrate strong analytical and interpersonal skills in addition to outstanding customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Bring a curious mindset and motivation to better understand and apply a new, data driven approach to Underwriting
• Provide the highest level of accuracy and support to the Underwriting Team throughout the new business lifecycle and ongoing renewal account maintenance
• Perform initial review, triage, and processing of new business and renewal submissions
• Work with the IT and Product Teams to troubleshoot, coordinate, and communicate system problems
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and consistently meet processing deadlines per Underwriting Service Standards
• Support Underwriting Team in the production, selection, pricing, control, and servicing of insurance policies using Indigo’s model
• Understand and comply with regulatory requirements, Patient Compensation Fund (PCF) rules and unique requirements
• Collaborate with Sales to build, strengthen, and manage relationships with agents/brokers
