Summary

Join Abarca's Internship program and be part of the Underwriting team, immersed in pharmacy data and financial analysis impacting millions. Collaborate with various teams, learn to analyze pharmacy claim data, develop financial models, and forecast operating costs. You will utilize market intelligence, assist with documentation, and contribute to accurate customer deliverables. The internship offers exposure to projects with other business partners and a flexible hybrid work model (Puerto Rico location only). Requirements

  • Be an active student enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or Statistics or related field
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft products including Excel/Word/PowerPoint
  • A prior class or proven passion for financial analysis and strategic thinking
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing

Responsibilities

  • Learn to collaborate with field sales, clients, and internal management to review RFP's and make strategic recommendations that best fit the customer's needs
  • Learn to analyze pharmacy claim data and all the critical components
  • Assist with the development of financial models, integrating multiple data sources, to accurately model pricing scenario impact for new and existing business
  • Forecast Abarca’s operating costs, ancillary fee revenues and clinical program ROI's so that Abarca can holistically understand revenues streams and customer savings opportunities for prospective and existing clients
  • Utilize market intelligence to analyze competitive position on a case specific basis and develop financial comparisons
  • Assist with documentation, tracking and recording our pricing strategy and modeling approach for each prospect
  • Assist with production and quality assurance of timely and accurate customer specific documents, deliverables, and account related information
  • Potential exposure to projects with other business partners such as data analytics, business development, and predictive insights
