Underwriting Leader, Middle Market

Summary

Join Coalition as the Southeast Underwriting Leader, Middle Market, a fully remote position based anywhere in the Southeast. You will actively generate profitable business from assigned brokers, partnering with our Sales organization. Responsibilities include underwriting and managing a wide range of products, leading a team of Production Underwriters, and developing key strategic relationships. You will be the subject matter expert for cyber insurance, educating brokers and customers. This role requires extensive experience in multi-line underwriting within the Tech E&O/Cyber segment and strong sales and communication skills. Requirements

• 8+ years of multi-line underwriting experience within the Tech E&O/Cyber segment including security offerings
• A demonstrated track record of success, with strong underwriting and point-of-sale competencies
• Ability to work independently within current level of underwriting authority
• Strong sales, communication and marketing skills are critical; must be able to demonstrate success with managing tight time frames, high volumes of work, direct agency relationships
• Proficient background in risk analysis (especially in Technology Cyber Insurance)
• Knowledge and proficiency with technical issues, compliance, coverage, products and pricing strategies

Responsibilities

• Work closely with sales and product staff to assess cyber products and capabilities
• Lead and mentor a team of Production Underwriters within the South Eastern US region
• Manage and underwrite new business
• Work with the sales organization and execute strategies specific to technology and cyber insurance
• Develop, manage and underwrite with key strategic relationships in order to achieve production and profit targets
• Identify new customers through effective pipelining, pre-qualification, and territory analysis/management
• Exhibit a thorough understanding of the local cyber insurance marketplace and trends, Coalition’s capabilities within the geography, and corporate vision
• Develop and execute recommendations to profitably capture market share across assigned geography
• 15-25% travel including but not limited to quarterly onsite visits and internal gatherings

Preferred Qualifications

5+ years of managerial experience is preferred
