VFX Artist

Summary

Join 1047 Games, a permanently remote company, and become a VFX Artist contributing to a new shooter in the Splitgate universe. You will create real-time VFX enhancing game mechanics and player experience, collaborating with various departments. This role requires 4+ years of VFX experience in video games, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, proficiency in VFX software and a game engine, and a strong online portfolio. Requirements

• 4+ years of experience creating VFX for video games
• Bachelor’s Degree in Art or equivalent experience in a related field
• Proficiency in VFX software (Houdini, Blender, Embergen etc) and a game engine (Unreal, Unity, etc)
• Online Portfolio demonstrating expertise in the creation and implementation of real-time VFX
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, English; due to the nature of the role that requires interaction with other teammates that are all over the world

Responsibilities

• Create real-time VFX that enhance game mechanics and player experience
• Research, prototype and develop VFX using particles, textures and shaders
• Follow the artistic direction as you create visual effects
• Discuss artistic and technical challenges with colleagues to ensure interdisciplinary clarity and alignment
• Work with different departments on integration of VFX
• Ensure VFX meet performance and memory requirements
• Experiment with the latest tools and techniques to enhance the quality of VFX

Preferred Qualifications

• Online portfolio to illustrate artistic skills
• Proficiency in using industry standard 3D content creation tools
• Ability to create all the elements required for the assembly of VFX
• Proficiency in Unreal/Niagara
• Technical problem-solving skills
