Requirements

  • Possess a degree or diploma in film production, animation, visual effects, CGI, or a related field
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in VFX editing or a similar role, with at least 2 years working with CGI and 2D animation
  • Be proficient in editing tools (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro), compositing software (e.g., After Effects, Nuke), and CGI tools (e.g., Autodesk Maya, Blender, Houdini)
  • Have a strong understanding of CGI pipelines, including modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, and rendering
  • Be proficient in 2D animation tools such as Adobe Animate or Toon Boom Harmony
  • Have familiarity with industry-standard file formats, rendering techniques, and media management
  • Have a deep understanding of animation and CGI principles, including timing, physics, and storytelling
  • Be able to adapt to various artistic styles, from stylized animation to photo-realistic CGI
  • Possess excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Have strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Possess a problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges

Responsibilities

  • Edit and composite 2D animated and CGI elements into sequences, ensuring proper timing, pacing, and continuity
  • Work with 3D artists to review, refine, and seamlessly incorporate CGI assets into live-action or animated sequences
  • Ensure CGI elements align with the creative vision and match the production quality
  • Collaborate with animators to incorporate 2D animations into VFX shots, maintaining stylistic and technical consistency
  • Organize and maintain the sequence timeline, tracking shot versions, CGI assets, and animation updates to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
  • Edit previsualization and animatic sequences to establish timing and continuity for complex VFX and CGI shots
  • Manage media assets and ensure accurate shot turnovers between editorial, VFX, 3D, and 2D animation teams
  • Review VFX, CGI, and animated shots for technical and creative accuracy, ensuring they meet production specifications before final delivery
  • Act as a bridge between the VFX, animation, and CGI teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements, feedback, and deadlines
