Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business, science, or engineering required
  • Six Sigma and Lean Leadership required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills
  • 15+ years of experience leading quality and transformation efforts across a matrixed global organization
  • 10+ years success providing direct leadership and mentorship to a team
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with required government and customer audits and inspections
  • Significant experience managing all aspects of Quality Management System and Operational Excellence activities

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional animal quality, maintain global AALAC accreditation and compliance with local laws
  • Collaborate with the training team to ensure animal care employees receive appropriate training both at onboarding and throughout their employment
  • Own Taconic animal care and use program as well as program description
  • Works closely with the CEO to ensure animal quality for the company
  • Provide executive leadership for quality assurance, customer quality and supplier quality teams including establishing objectives and KPIs
  • Understand and deliver on the customer’s expectations through proactive, predictive, and analytical management practices
  • Reduce preventable costs and errors through root cause identification in the initial process or product to prevent future incidents via process re-engineering and technology
  • Track and address customer quality issues and drive improvements in key KPIs
  • Decrease waste through efficient enterprise-wide management through standardization of processes and metrics
  • Provide executive leadership to cross company continuous improvement program
  • Execute CI transformation plan to streamline workflows, ensure employee safety and engagement, maximize customer and employee satisfaction, and reduce costs
  • Gain short-term and long-term cost controls through elimination of non-value add or non-standard quality processes and functions
  • Understand and drive the shareholder value, growth and profitability expectations
  • Contribute to development of corporate vision and strategy
  • Translate organizational strategy into departmental goals and objectives
  • Model the customer focus value by engaging with peers in client and partner companies
  • Align multiple organizational units towards a common strategy and culture
  • Building relationships across the company, providing insightful feedback to the management and quality team on quality issues, opportunities and ways to improve strategic priorities
  • Allocate and Manage Organizational Resources
  • Build business cases to support initiatives which are financially viable and supportive of company strategy
  • Efficiently utilize company resources to achieve short- and long-term company objectives
  • Ensure company policies and values are followed throughout the company
  • Engage and Develop Employees
  • Build a high performing team
  • Actively support the performance management system (goals, feedback, and recognition), in a way that is aligned with the strategy

Benefits

Annual salary will be $250,000 - $270,000
