Summary
Join our dynamic team at Grip as a Video Editor/Quality Control professional! We're experiencing exciting growth and seeking a detail-oriented individual with exceptional editing skills and post-production knowledge. You'll be responsible for replacing VFX shots, collaborating with project managers and VFX supervisors, and ensuring high visual quality. Requirements
- Proven experience as a video editor with a robust portfolio
- Quality control expertise covering video, audio, and visual effects assets
- Understanding industry specifications, including resolution, frame rate, audio settings, and color space
- Familiarity with file format technicalities, codecs, raw video files, transcoding, and compression
- Knowledge of video resolution, aspect ratios, and LUTs
- Understanding of broadcast, web, social media, and online media delivery standards
- Exceptional attention to detail and a critical eye for visual quality
- Efficient work under tight deadlines, strong timekeeping skills for timely project completion
- Quick learning ability for new processes and technology
- Effective at taking direction, asking questions, and learning through observation, with excellent communication and team interaction skills across all production phases
- Fluent in English
Responsibilities
- Download all master files from vendors, conduct thorough quality checks, and upload them to our servers
- Create an MP4 version for quick access
- Replace VFX shots in the final master, ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications and standards
- Edit or create various cut-downs and social media crops from the master edit (9x16, 1x1, 4x5, etc.)
- Collaborate closely with project managers, VFX supervisors, and team members to achieve desired results
- Identify and address issues related to colors, video, audio, and overall visual aesthetics
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in editing techniques and technology
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the visual effects (VFX) process and pipeline is preferable
- Proficiency in industry-standard editing software, preferably with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects (Avid, Final Cut Pro, and Davinci Resolve are nice to have)
