Video Producer/Editor

Summary

The Athletic is seeking a passionate content producer and video editor with 4+ years of experience to support their women’s soccer coverage. The ideal candidate will have expertise in creating engaging social-first video formats, editing, and post-production, as well as knowledge of women’s soccer in the US and Europe.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant industry experience
• BA/BS degree or equivalent professional experience
• Expertise in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud software
• Outstanding editing skills
• Knowledge of and keen interest in women’s soccer
• Must be available to work shifts, including weekends and evenings

Responsibilities

• Remotely produce, shoot, and edit videos with our women’s soccer newsroom talent
• Write scripts and direct presenting talent
• Work under the Senior Executive Producer to create content for and run our women’s soccer social video channels including YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
• Work with the video growth team to identify trends and scale our women’s soccer video products
• Assist the other video production teams with additional editing when required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cameras, lighting and audio desirable
• High level of professionalism; driven and motivated with excellent follow-up
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Creative and strategic thinking skills
• Broadcast journalism experience, and/or social video editing experience in the sports media industry is desirable
