Summary

Join Equivity as a remote Bankruptcy Paralegal! Draft and file bankruptcy petitions and related documents. Prepare for and support hearings, including 341 Meetings of Creditors. Communicate with clients, courts, and creditors. Use case management software like BestCase and Clio. Maintain timely communication with clients. This is a W-2 employee position with a pay range of $25/hr – $29/hr.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of recent Bankruptcy paralegal experience, including Chapter 7 and Chapter 13
  • 3+ years working remotely in a law firm or legal services environment
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and case management software (e.g., Clio)
  • Proficient with legal research platforms and bankruptcy software (e.g., BestCase)
  • Strong written/verbal communication, organization, and attention to detail
  • Quiet, dedicated workspace for client and team calls

Responsibilities

  • Draft and file Chapter 11, 7, and 13 bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related documents
  • Prepare for and support hearings, including 341 Meetings of Creditors
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and creditors to gather and manage case information
  • Use tools like BestCase and Clio to maintain organized and accurate case files
  • Maintain timely communication with clients between 9 AM – 6 PM (your local time)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Chapter 11 is strongly preferred , as this will be a key focus of the role
  • Experience in an additional area of law is preferred (e.g., litigation, family law, or probate)
