Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3 years of recent bankruptcy paralegal experience across Chapters 7, 13, and 11
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and legal case management software such as Clio
- Experience with bankruptcy software such as BestCase
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational ability, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment and managing multiple cases simultaneously
- Quiet, professional home office setup suitable for client and team calls
- Availability to respond to client requests within one hour, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM
- Ability to work 20–40 hours per week on an ongoing basis
Responsibilities
- Draft and file Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 bankruptcy petitions, schedules, statements, and related documents
- Assist with hearings and 341 Meetings of Creditors, including preparation and coordination
- Communicate with clients, trustees, courts, and creditors to collect documentation and manage case progress
- Use platforms like BestCase and Clio to maintain accurate and up-to-date case files
- Respond promptly and professionally to client communications during business hours (9 AM – 6 PM)
- Help attorneys stay ahead of deadlines and ensure smooth case flow from start to finish
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ch 11, Subchapter 5
- Experience in an additional area of law (e.g., litigation, probate, or family law)
