Summary
Join Equivity as a virtual paralegal supporting attorneys in corporate and transactional law. You will handle corporate filings, manage contract lifecycles, and assist with trademark prosecution. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in these areas and is comfortable working independently in a remote setting. Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of recent paralegal experience in corporate and transactional law
- Strong experience in business entity formation and corporate governance
- Skilled in contract drafting, review, and organization
- Familiarity with USPTO filing systems, state corporate filing portals, and docketing software
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a virtual environment
- Equipped with a Windows-based laptop, smartphone, and broadband internet connection
- Bachelor’s degree
- Availability to respond to client requests within one hour, Monday through Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM
- Ability to work 20–40 hours per week on an ongoing basis
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file corporate formation documents for LLCs, corporations, and nonprofits at the state level
- Draft and review a variety of contracts, including operating agreements, shareholder agreements, service agreements, and NDAs
- Prepare and manage trademark prosecution filings, including applications, responses to Office Actions, and renewals
- Conduct trademark clearance searches and prepare reports for attorney review
- Maintain and track corporate compliance calendars, annual report filings, and contract deadlines
- Organize and maintain corporate records, minute books, and intellectual property portfolios
- Assist with due diligence and document organization for business transactions
- Ensure compliance with corporate regulations such as the Corporate Transparency Act
- Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients during standard business hours (9 AM – 6 PM)
Preferred Qualifications
Trademark prosecution experience is strongly preferred; patent knowledge is a plus
