VistA Mumps Enterprise Architect

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
• 10+ years of experience with InterSystems ObjectScript and MUMPS
• Strong knowledge of Delphi and 4GL languages (e.g., Java, C#)
• Expertise with VA system components: Kernel, FileMan, RPC Broker, HL7, VistALink, and MailMan
• Proven experience integrating modern architectural patterns into legacy systems
• Familiarity with VistA, healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR), and HealthShare products
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on scalability, optimization, and system sustainability

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for VistA enterprise architecture
• Provide expertise in MUMPS, ObjectScript, and Delphi for system development and optimization
• Evaluate and integrate modern design patterns (e.g., connection pooling) into VistA systems
• Optimize core components, including Kernel, FileMan, RPC Broker, HL7, VistALink, and MailMan
• Collaborate with stakeholders to address challenges and modernize legacy systems
• Facilitate integration of InterSystems HealthShare products to enhance data exchange
• Develop architecture roadmaps, technical strategies, and modernization plans
• Conduct performance assessments, gap analyses, and architectural reviews
• Mentor technical teams on best practices for mission-critical VA systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and DevSecOps practices
• Experience with IRIS for Health (2022+ versions)
• Ability to obtain a government clearance
• SAFe/Scrum certification
