Visual Merchandising & Retail Designer

Summary

Join Sol de Janeiro, a globally recognized beauty brand, as a freelance Visual Merchandising & Retail Designer for a temporary project lasting until the end of October 2025. This role will involve supporting the development and adaptation of creative concepts for various retail projects, including permanent VM rollouts, planograms, trade events, and brand activations. You will translate existing global designs to different retail fixture formats and provide creative and technical solutions aligned with brand guidelines. The position requires managing project deliverables from concept to execution and collaborating with internal stakeholders. The work will primarily be remote, with occasional presence recommended at the Düsseldorf office. Competitive salary and bonus program are offered.

Requirements

• Degree in Graphic Design or Industrial Design with strong experience in graphic production
• 3+ years of experience in in-store or retail design
• Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp, and V-Ray
• Strong skills in planogramming and 2D design
• Deep knowledge of print production, file preparation, color management, vector vs. raster graphics, and production specs
• Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines with a high level of detail and autonomy
• Clear communication skills and the ability to receive and integrate constructive feedback
• Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams while maintaining creative consistency

Responsibilities

• Support the development and adaptation of creative concepts for various retail projects, including permanent VM rollouts, planograms, trade events, and brand activations
• Translate and adapt existing global designs to a variety of retail fixture formats (e.g., Douglas, Globus)
• Provide creative and technical solutions in line with brand guidelines and global creative direction
• Manage project deliverables from concept to execution, including 2D design adaptation, preparation of final artwork files, and follow-up with external partners and vendors
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (creative, commercial, and project teams) to ensure timely and high-quality execution of all materials
