Summary
Join Western Digital and contribute your expertise to optimizing our wafer fabrication processes. This role involves identifying and resolving production bottlenecks, enhancing process efficiency, and promoting a quality-focused culture. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct process audits, and facilitate FMEAs. A Bachelor's degree with 5 years or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience in wafer fab engineering is required. Excellent communication skills and project leadership are essential. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ or master’s degree with 2 years’ experience in wafer fab engineering of magnetic head, CMOS, or other products of comparable complexity
- Project leadership to coordinate, facilitate, and drive actions of cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities
- Identify and fix weak links and bottlenecks in the production line, covering both process and equipment
- Work on the fab floor of Fremont and Great Oaks fabs frequently with manufacturing and engineering teams to perform audits and fix issues
- Proactively enhance the robustness and efficiency of wafer process and equipment systems, procedures, training packages, etc
- Promote Quality Culture among wafer process and equipment engineering teams
- Facilitate process FMEAs
- Collaborate with FA and yield engineering to assure wafer outgoing quality
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the integrated process flow from wafer start to finish is strongly preferred
- Familiar with HAMR Process is a plus
