Web3 Infrastructure Engineer

Summary

Join Linera, a pioneering blockchain optimized for real-time applications and interoperability, as a Web3 Infrastructure Engineer. You will collaborate with the core engineering team and the validator/node operator community to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of Linera's blockchain network deployments. This role demands expertise in blockchain infrastructure, distributed systems, and cloud environments. Responsibilities include designing, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure across testnet and mainnet; developing monitoring and management tools; collaborating on network upgrades; supporting validators and community node operators; and contributing to incident response and establishing best practices. The position requires significant experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, strong cloud and infrastructure-as-code proficiency, and familiarity with Linux systems, containerization, and observability tools. Strong communication skills are essential for this remote-first, open-source environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering roles, preferably with a focus on distributed systems and/or blockchain networks
• Strong proficiency with cloud providers (GCP, AWS, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
• Familiarity with Linux systems, networking, and containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Solid programming skills for automation and tooling. Familiarity with Rust appreciated
• Deep understanding of observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) and logging pipelines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first, open-source environment

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain the infrastructure supporting Linera’s blockchain network across testnet and mainnet environments
• Develop tools and automation for monitoring, alerting, and managing node deployments and network health
• Collaborate with protocol engineers to ensure smooth upgrades, network stability, and scalability
• Support validators and community node operators with documentation, troubleshooting, and onboarding
• Contribute to incident response and establish best practices for security, reliability, and performance in a decentralized infrastructure
