Summary
Join ARC Group as a Senior Systems Engineer in a fully remote position, working Eastern Time Zone business hours. This contract role, extending through February 2026 with potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment, presents a fantastic opportunity for career growth within a well-respected organization. The primary focus is supporting Tomcat and WebSphere, particularly within a recently implemented CloudPak (OpenShift) environment. Responsibilities include patching, installations, vulnerability checks, and troubleshooting, requiring some scripting and programming skills. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in system administration, DevOps, and Agile methodologies, along with strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
Requirements
- Have extensive working knowledge of multiple technologies and their interfaces and integration
- Be competent working in one or more environments highly integrated with an operating system
- Have extensive experience implementing and administering/managing technical solutions in major, large-scale system implementations
- Possess high critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy
- Be able to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Be able to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
- Be able to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
- Be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Have experience analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
- Have experience using Agile methodology
- Have 5-8+ years of related work experience or equivalent combination of transferable experience demonstrating proficiency and experience in design, implementation, monitoring and troubleshooting technology
- Have experience with WebSphere (Admin side)
- Have experience using: Liberty/NodeJS (admin side) & WebLogic administration
- Have strong CloudPak/OpenShift (DevOps experience)
- Have some ability to do programming (when/if needed)
- Have a general understanding of CI/CD Pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)
- Have a related Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or relevant work experience
Responsibilities
- Monitor, install, configure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain WebSphere/Liberty/NodeJS/WebLogic solutions
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot problems
- Perform scripting and programming as needed
- Perform on-call activities as needed for the environment and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Have experience in CloudPak/OpenShift platform, DevOps, NodeJS administration, Jenkins, GIT lab, etc
- Be conversant with WebSphere migrations along with Liberty, Client, NetScaler configurations
- Have Tomcat server experience and other opensource web servers experience
- Have experience in SOC2/ OIG/CMS auditing preparation, Vulnerability management and applying the patches for the Audit remediation etc
- Be able to do coding in common languages in case of necessities for system's monitoring and other related functionalities
