Summary

Join Respect Aged Care as a WHS Manager to lead safety strategy and execution for our organization, with a focus on reducing risks and creating a positive environment for staff. This remote position requires travel within Tasmania, Victoria, and NSW.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in OHS
  • NDIS Worker Screening Endorsement (or ability to acquire)
  • National Police Check

Responsibilities

  • Develop a long-term safety roadmap focused on risk reduction and a culture of mindful safety
  • Communicate with and engage the workforce in the roadmap, expectations, and benefits of the program
  • Drive a strong safety culture that permeates all levels of the organisation
  • Develop and implement safety initiatives that create a positive environment for staff and contribute to eliminating work-related injuries and operational incidents
  • Oversee the management of workplace injury cases, including associated compensation, rehabilitation, and return to work provisions
  • Review decisions, timeframes, and complaints related to the management of claims
  • Escalate significant events to the CEO/CPO/Board and relevant regulatory body as required
  • Develop and maintain a risk register and manage the program of work to reduce risk across the business
  • Ensure all WHS policies reflect current regulations
  • Ensure the WHS team are educated and well versed in all relevant WHS legislation and workers compensation law
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators
  • Analyse data trends and metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving safety performance
  • Develop in conjunction with Organisational Development, and deliver WHS training programs for all levels of staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Aged Care and/or health care settings
  • Experience with contemporary Safety Management Systems
