Summary

The position offers flexibility to manage your own day while meeting objectives and client demands, working with a mix of on-site and remote team members. Strong communication and time management are essential. The role is remote, based anywhere in South Africa, requiring authorization to work without visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a PMO or Resource Manager role, ideally within a Workday environment
  • Demonstrated success managing complex projects from initiation to completion
  • Experience overseeing project governance and resource planning processes
  • Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, able to handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management
  • Technical proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Workday PM modules)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in resource planning and conflict resolution

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and uphold project management methodologies for VirtualResource
  • Provide expert guidance and mentoring across project management activities
  • Monitor and report on project performance, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
  • Maintain robust stakeholder engagement and communication channels
  • Lead risk management initiatives to proactively mitigate project threats
  • Ensure thorough documentation for compliance and audit purposes
  • Deliver PM training and mentor junior project staff
  • Manage PMO budget and track resource utilisation
  • Conduct detailed project reviews and feed lessons learned into future planning
  • Oversee weekly time reporting to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Allocate resources effectively across projects according to skillsets and availability
  • Conduct capacity planning to meet current and future staffing needs
  • Resolve resource conflicts to maintain project continuity and momentum

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Workday project resource modules or Workday ecosystem
  • Experience in training and mentoring project teams
  • Background in change management or business process improvement
  • Budget management experience at a PMO level
