Yiddish Transcriber

Summary

Join Productive Playhouse as a Yiddish Transcriber for a project-based, remote contract position. You will transcribe audio files from our online database, following provided guidelines and meeting deadlines. Compensation is $3.50 USD per transcribed audio minute. The workload is flexible and project-based, allowing for a flexible schedule and work-from-home arrangement. Native-level Yiddish proficiency (C2) is required, along with excellent Yiddish grammar and punctuation. You'll need an Upwork profile or be willing to create one. This role involves listening to audio files and typing what you hear, with some segment labeling required.

Requirements

• Native-level (C2) proficiency in Yiddish including the ability to read and write
• Excellent grammar/orthography and punctuation in Yiddish
• Have an Upwork profile, or be willing to create an Upwork profile
• High-speed internet access
• Access to e-mail

Responsibilities

• Transcribe all assigned audio files
• Follow project guidelines
• Meet project deadlines
• Make consistent progress on assigned audio files
• Communicate with project managers in a timely and effective manner
• Communicate in English with project managers via email (verbal communication is not required)
