Contribute to a successful culinary team in a remote camp setting, preparing starch and vegetable items for the dinner menu. This role involves a 2-week on/2-week off rotation with all meals, accommodations, and travel provided from designated locations. Enjoy amenities like private rooms, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and a gym. Responsibilities include collaborating with the First Cook, following recipes and presentation standards, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. The ideal candidate possesses large-scale cooking experience and a team-oriented approach.

Requirements

• Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site
• Ability to handle the following physical demands: Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbs
• Climb ladders or stairs
• Stand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of time
• Perform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both hands
• Perform work with arms at full length
• Work with arms above shoulder height
• Ability to commit to a 2 week on/2 week off rotation

Responsibilities

• Meet daily with the First Cook to discuss menu preparation and production strategy
• Assist the First Cook in the preparation of all menu items as needed
• Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications
• Can be responsible for preparing and serving hot breakfast
• Replenish desserts and condiment stations as required
• Assist in the cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen and serving areas
• Can be responsible for assisting with baking
• Practice correct food handling guidelines and storage procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Large-scale cooking in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong asset
• Current Food Safe certification is preferred
• A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction
