Adjunct Faculty

Summary

The job is a remote contract position for a certified adjunct instructor to facilitate AAPC's VILT program. The instructor will be responsible for facilitating online curriculum, holding weekly office hours, monitoring student participation, providing feedback, adhering to policies and procedures, and participating in faculty meetings. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of healthcare business experience, 2 years of teaching experience (online preferred), strong interpersonal skills, and the required AAPC Instructor credential along with CIC, CCS, RHIA or RHIT credentials.

Requirements

• AAPC Instructor credential along with CIC, CCS, RHIA or RHIT credentials
• Minimum 5 years healthcare business experience
• Minimum 2 years teaching experience (online experience preferred)
• Strong interpersonal, communication and time-management skills

Responsibilities

• Facilitate online curriculum through Black Board platform for core and specialty credentials
• Hold weekly office hours
• Monitor and measure student participation, attendance, and completion of assignments and assessments
• Record attendance
• Respond to student queries and provide relevant and timely feedback
• Adhere to all VILT Instructor policies and procedures
• Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to process improvement efforts
